ABOUT ME
I have practised as a Lawyer on the Sunshine Coast since 2002 and now, as an Accredited Specialist in “Succession Law”, I have established my own firm practising solely in this area of law. Prior to 2002, I gained my Honours Degree in Law from the University of Queensland. I completed Articles of Clerkship with a large internationally based Australian law firm in Brisbane, and I was an Associate to a Judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland. I am admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia. I am a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Sunshine Coast Law Association and have completed the Queensland Law Society Practice Management Course. I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), an international organisation of professionals practising in this field. I became accredited as a Specialist in the area of “Succession Law”, in 2009. In plain language, “Succession Law” is about inheritance and often involves questions of incapacity. My website is intended to provide quick answers to common questions about why, and when, to see a Lawyer about inheritance or incapacity. My website is not intended to provide advice, and is prepared with reference only to the laws applying in Queensland, Australia.
